If you're to new Google Groups or Usenet, you've probably come across
the term 'viatology'. So what does this word mean?

Viatology is by definition the scientific study of roads. Viatology
applies the principles of the scientific method (http://
theory.uwinnipeg.ca/mod_tech/node6.html) in the measurement in
discovery of roadway patterns and apparatus. Some examples of
viatology are, but certainly not limited to the studies of, milepost
measurements, international border crossings, freeway interchanges,
and various pavement types.

To help foster viatology as a legitimate scientific study, it is
critical that each viatologist contribute to the field with ther own
research and findings. Where results cannot be replicated, you simply
find new stimuli to explain. One day, viatology may be a rational
field of study in scholastic academia and research foundations.
