I wonder if there is any correlation between driving for a living and
poor driving - this works in many other forms of employment as I'm sure
most people know. There are often comments about the poor quality of
driving of taxi drivers and lorry drivers - I'm sure this is a
statistical thing but is there any form of correlation?

There are also comments about older people being poor drivers - apart
from failing senses they also (for reasons of poverty and / or no longer
going to work) for the most part) tend to drive a lot less.
