Are women cyclists in more danger than men?

If cyclists didn't cycle down the left hand side of vehicles, but stayed
behind them in the order that they arrived at the junction like any other
vehicle, they wouldn't get squashed by left-turning vehicles who cannot see
them or do not expect them to be there.

The report seems almost to be making a virtue out the fact that some
cyclists, more often male than female, jump red lights and so avoid being
alongside a lorry when it turns. Talk about making a virtue out of a vice!

Unless there is a markedcyclelane,I always position my car close to the kerb
when turning left if there are cyclists about, to block them from overtaking
me on the left. If I'm not close to a junction or not about to turn left,
I've no great problem with them overtaking on the left, though I wish really
that they'd overtake on the right or else stay behind me.

As a cyclist I NEVER overtake anything on the left - never have, never
will - because I know how dangerous it is.
