Going back to BT but physical line has gone

My elderly father is currently paying around £30 a month to Virgin for phone & seldom used BB. I plan to switch him back to BT & get him on Sky's 2Mb free BB. He went on NTL as it was around 10 years ago. In that time the old overhead BT line has vanished, I've idea when they did this or why. Will there be a charge to stick a new line to his house?
