Recent move to Talk Talk

A couple of months ago moved my phone provider to Talk Talk, all been well
until yesterday when I found my line to be restrictive in that any number I
dial out puts me to TT Financial Dept who automaticly demand I give my
Credit Card number and make payments.  At sign up I gave my bank details for
a Direct Debit payments.  I did manage to speak to 2 people in that dept.
foreign voices unhelpful to solve what as gone wrong only interested in
getting the payment.  They say my bank refused to pay their DD payment
request, and I should sort out the problem with bank.  Can't contact my bank
I said phone off, they refused to put service back for me to sort problem
out, by the way plenty of money in my account.
Been to see bank, TT have not set DD up nor asked for any payments I'm
informed.
I have made a CC payment to get account with TT clear yesterday, which shows
on my TT Account as paid but phone still restricted.
I'm upset that TT did not contact me prior to this restriction being put in
place to enable things to be sorted out earlier.

Is this typical of TT?

I have phoned their Customer Service and requested the CS Manager to phone
me, so far no call.
Anyone got a direct number for high up management at TT?
