I now have a DAB external dipole aerial installed and the system is working perfectly! The problem appeared to be quite contrary to what I thought and something no one else has suggested during our exchanges,, that is the signal being received was too big. The received signal by the dipole was 98db whereas, as I understand it, the signal should not exceed 70db. The aerial fitter installed a 20db attenuator and everything then fell into place. We tested with and without the attenuator. Without the attenuator the set did not respond whereas with the attenuator the signal at the set was 68db and everything was perfect. The fitters said they had never experienced this 'problem' before, that is the signal being so large as to 'swamp' the receiver. I guess that explains why the internal aerial 'worked' whereas the external aerial (without attenuator didn't). The walls and other impediments to the signal to the internal aerial reduced signal strength to within the required band. As a matter of interest the time taken from ringing the doorbell until the guys left the premises, cheque in hand, was 50 minutes. As for price, £90.00. I guess from previous exchanges on this subject they must be 'cowboys' :-)![ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
