An elderly relative of mine has just been visiting, and was telling me how her son in the USA has got her set up with broadband etc, including some system which apparently links to her (terrestrial) TV to allow the controls to be overridden by the son. He's apparently done this primarily in order to be able to get his fix of the Premiere League over the pond; the result is that mum is happily ensonced in front of the TV of an evening watching the Antiques Roadshow, when <BAM!> the channel suddenly switches over to 'Match of the Day! I've never heard of a system like this (it was installed by the son) and not having seen it myself, am curious to know what it is and how it works. Also, in these days of being able to record and/or watch three channels simultaneously, I'm wondering if there's any way for it to operate so that it doesn't prevent mum from watching what she wants (short of pulling out the bloody plug from whatever this device is, as has been suggested!!) Presumably if nothing else, an old portable TV in the corner facing the wall with the sound turned down would do the job at least?! David[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
