Not DVI-D (my experience is scart), so apologies for the slightly
unhelpful response, but.....

I moved from a Thomson TV (which switched on from standby if a source
such as the PVR became active) to a Panasonic TV which doesn't switch
on from standby. Apparently this is by design, though I can't for the
life of me work out why as it was a really useful simplofying feature
of the Thomson TV - eg. parents come round to babysit for us, and in
the Thomson days just gave them the PVR remote and they could use that
for just about everything. Now they have to know about how to switch
between AV inputs and use two remotes. Not the end of the world, but
less convenient than previously.

The Panasonic does switch sources though if a new source is turned on
whilst the TV is on, so again not quite the same scenario as yours.

Matt
