Hi everybody, coming back from our club championship, happy to be far enough from the back end of the scoring list (but unhappy to be even further from the top) I have some questions concerning electronic trolleys: Some of these devices have an automatic stop function which allows to let them drive unattended for a defined yardage to a desired position (e.g. around the green). Yesterday a fellow competitor used this function to determine the position of his ball relative to a yardage indicator on the fairway by invoking the auto-stop function for 30 m, then for 10 m. Are there any thoughts or even official informations on the topic if these trolleys are deemed to be in accordance with RoG 14-3 (artificial devices...) or if this kind of usage is conforming to the rules? BTW: There is no local rule for our course allowing distance measuring devices. Other trolleys have digital yardage indication included and I was told that some even provide air temperature measurement (AFAIK illegal according to the RoG). What about these? Additional question: Has there been any change in this matter since the 2008 rules have been released? Ciao, Paul[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
