2010 Evolution Weekend

http://www.butler.edu/clergyproject/rel_evolution_weekend_2009.htm

This year marks the fifth annual Evoluton Weekend. With particpation
in each Evolution Weekend larger than the one before it, participants
represent a growing movement that dynamically demonstrates that
religion and science have much to offer one another. Please join us
and congregations all around the world in celebrating Evolution
Weekend 2010!

12 -14 February 2010 -- Evolution Weekend

Evolution Weekend is an opportunity for serious discussion and
reflection on the relationship between religion and science. One
important goal is to elevate the quality of the discussion on this
critical topic - to move beyond sound bites. A second critical goal is
to demonstrate that religious people from many faiths and locations
understand that evolution is sound science and poses no problems for
their faith. Finally, as with The Clergy Letters themselves, which
have now been signed by more than 12,000 members of the clergy in the
United States, Evolution Weekend makes it clear that those claiming
that people must choose between religion and science are creating a
false dichotomy.

Through sermons, discussion groups, meaningful conversations and
seminars, the leaders listed below will show that religion and science
are not adversaries.

If your congregation would like to join this international event in
2010, please send a note to [email address on web page]. We welcome
your participation.

To examine some of the sermons members of The Clergy Letter Project
have delivered on this topic, to find scientific consultants willing
to help answer questions or to read media reports about our
activities, please explore our web pages.

683 Congregations from all 50 States, the District of Columbia and
10 Countries are scheduled to participate in Evolution Weekend 2010
