There should be ticket vending machines of SouthEastern Railways at
the Ebbsfleet International railway station, where also a German tourist
could withdraw a "Fast Ticket", i.e. paid in advance, but withdrawn
after arriving with a Eurostar from the continent to change to a
regional train.

Could they be sure to find such a machine there, and have no problems
with them?

BTW, are those the same machines for a direct local sale of tickets?
I assume so, but one should never rely too much just on assumptions.

The English language Wikipedia has separate articles on the various
products of different vendors, e.g. one on the Shere application
> <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shere_FASTticket>
another on the machines by Scheidt & Bachmann
> <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scheidt_%26_Bachmann_Ticket_XPress>

Are these machines very different to operate?
Isn't there a common brand name for withdrawal of prepaid tickets at
such machines, across all TOCs?
For what a visitor would have to look for in order to withdraw a
prepaid ticket?
