The seat pitch is being increased generally on newer buses due to the
average height of people getting taller, the seat pitch is being increased
generally on aircraft due to the average height of people getting taller and
cars have generally increased the available legroom.
So why is it on the trains the seat pitch is being reduced to cram more
people in resulting in many people not being able to fit comfortably into
the seat? This is without having their knees crushed, causing them great
discomfort and soreness (at times bruising), or sitting sideways across the
seats, taking up 2 seats in total, to the disapproval of other passengers
standing.
Why can't the seat pitch on the trains also reflect the trend of the
population getting taller instead of reducing it?
