IIRC the whole of the old London St Pancras was electrified, despite only electric suburban trains using it. I wonder if some platforms ever saw an electric train in service? Was this a mistake? I don't think so. The mistake was not wiring the line from Bedford to Sheffield (or better still Doncaster/York). >Remember also, those fast lines don’t have platform access anymore, >either, so it wouldn’t have just been the cost of wires to consider. There was and is no reason why access to those platforms could not be retained for emergency use. It was simply a matter of bean counting. -- David Hansen, Edinburgh I will *always* explain revoked encryption keys, unless RIP prevents me http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2000/ukpga_20000023_en_8#pt3-pb3-l1g54[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
