In retrospect, it was a silly thing to have done, and not something my manager at the time should even have contemplated. I think the potential loss if the deal hadn't 'closed out' that day was circa £3k - nowhere near enough to be a sacking offence - whereas had I been robbed, or indeed disappeared with the money......
