I've certainly seen people choosing blank-wall seats in a mostly-empty
Pendolino. Those seats - and most of the other ones still empty in the
carriage - weren't reserved when I'd boarded a few minutes earlier, so
these weren't people going to their reserved seats. It did seem to be a
deliberate, positive preference.
