No, the London - Nottingham £55.50 Weekender Return is route
"Grantham" rather than "NXEC + connections", but I don't think one
would buy that ticket for a Friday evening peak journey from Kings
Cross and Monday return, because the EMT-priced £50.70 Super Off Peak
Return route Any Permitted is shown on the NXEC site as valid to/from
Kings Cross throughout the Friday evening peak northbound and Monday
morning peak southbound. This includes the Hull Trains 1850 Friday
departure and 0917 Monday arrival.

To/from St Pancras, the Super Off Peak Return is restricted more or
less as one would expect. Friday northbound, it's available until 1500
and from 1930, Monday southbound is from the 0938 from Nottingham
(1151 St Pancras). Oddly, it is also shown as valid on the 0826
Nottingham - St Pancras 1019, but not on the next 3 departures.

Looking at this fare in more depth, the Super Off Peak Return between
Nottingham and London appears to be wholly unrestricted in either
direction when used via Grantham to/from Kings Cross. evolvi gives the
ticket code as SSR (Welcome back, Supersaver!) and the Fare Code (ie.
restriction) as CI. If anyone knows what code CI means in "The
Manual", please tell us. NFMs 98 and 99 contain code C1 but not CI.

Mistake? Probably, but good news for passengers while it lasts.

John
