You could say that its a retro style as I can remember leather seats in the
old buses, then came vinyl and after that fabric. So if we go back any
further will the buses have wooden slatted seats?

As far as I know trains went straight from wooden to fabric seats (third
class). The normal trains that is and not including luxury ones such as
Pullmans, etc.
