If you have a nosey at the "Loco hauled train on Virgin Chiltern shuttle"
you'll see (hints) that the WCML is blocked at weekends due to engineering
works.  Virgin are running trains, but they are taking "2.5 hours from
Euston to Birmingham International".

Going via Sheffield sounds like a much quicker alternative!  No direct
HSTs from Manchester-St. Pancras this time though.
