Some people only go to V for 1 day rather than camping out for the 2
days. Returning to London there was a service of 8-car 321s about
every 10mins until the early morning. As David said a 3-car 170
interspersed with that wouldn't have been able to cope. I went
through Liv St on Saturday and it was manic - they had loads of RPIs
sitting at trestle tables outside the booking office to supplement the
main booking office windows (it didn't help that 3 windows were closed
for refurbishment and glas removal).
