Occasionally, there's a second roving barrier on the steps up from
the platforms to the footbridge. Like the main barriers, the gang
move around to cover platforms as trains arrive.

Although they're much rarer, I've seen a few of these "rear" barriers
recently (most mornings I have a p1 to p13 connection), and they
have always had a couple of uniformed BTP officers present. Perhaps
they know that this is the usual escape route for the "hardcore"
fare dodgers and are expecting more trouble.
