Will Virgin trains ever be any good on Saturdays again?

For several years now, I've not had a season ticket at CCFC, simply because
I'm not prepared to put up with a long and inconvenient journey, sometimes
with bustitution, on the WCML.

In the mid-1990s, before all of these 'upgrades' and Pendolinos, it was
possible to get from Euston to Coventry on a Saturday in just over an hour.
They even offered the very nice 'weekend day first' ticket at about 24 quid
for first-class both ways. It was a pleasure.

Then things started to go wrong, and journeys began to take twice as long.

When we moved to the Ricoh Arena, travel to Nuneaton became a valid option,
and for a time that was grand. I remember once, Euston to Nuneaton took only
59 minutes on a Pendolino. Superb.

But that didn't last very long. Nowadays, every time I even think about
going from London to Cov or Nuneaton on a Saturday, thetrainline shows me
something horrendous like 2 hours 29 minutes, changing onto a bus at
Northampton.

FFS. Is this stupid line ever going to be good again?

I thought they were supposed to be improving things?
