Yes, finding half a platform to reverse in is much easier than a whole
one to pass through.

However, whilst Virgin were still cross countrying they did at one
point state that their plan was eventually to send all their services
via Camp Hill.

The plan was obviously dropped but not entirely sure why?

It would make plenty of sense to send NE - SW services that way, with
a reverse.
