The up platform at Horsforth has been accommodating HSTs for several
years now, exploiting the fact that it's quite a desirable area of
Leeds for the kind of business people who might need to go down to
London for the day every so often.

When the 37+Mark 2 top and tail service ran on the Harrogate loop in
the evening, I can't remember clearly but I think one loco or the
other was off the platform.  The curvature of the Harrogate platform
also made it difficult for the driver to see any hand signals from the
conductor.
