Hardly ever enforced though (unless the train is entirely full, in which case a crap seat is better than none anyway). Even on GNER-as-was, supposedly the hotbed of reserved-seat- enforcement, I've travelled tens of times on advance tickets and never had my seat choice queried. Nor ever on any other operator.
