Well, that's certainly a part of my thinking. Another part goes along the lines of: "I'm at X and I want to get to Z - where is the Y that I need to change?" Only if I were in track-bashing mode would I start off with "I'm at A and I have a ticket to Z..." ;-) As for the strangeness of the route via Manchester, neither of those legs of the journey included a ticket check. There was only the cursory glance on the bridge while changing at MAN. Both legs were memorable for oddities/problems, though. From SYB to MAN, the air con wasn't working and 185 134 was like a sauna. From MAN to DON, not only were the tickets not checked, but the guard announced that he was unable to issue tickets and people should buy them at their first available opportunity after leaving the train. > It may be complicated by the fact that the shortest route > (Huddersfield and Wakefield) doesn't carry a Sunday service so if you > were making the same journey on a Sunday, Leeds would be the shorter > route. I hadn't realised that. Interesting. -- http://gallery120232.fotopic.net/p9683721.html (55003 (Class 122) at Leamington Spa, 10 Jun 1985)[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
