get a car like a merc where the roof rails are earthed then you don't need
noisy cross bars .....or if the rails are not earthed as in my wagon r, take
off the plastic end caps and short earth strap the mount to the fixing
bolts.....simples ....I have never had much luck earthing just ladder
bars.....and I don't think a foot long earth strap is a good idea if you
want to avoid RF burns to your nose and lips ! .....and if you use a centre
loaded hustler with aluminimum fold over botton section it weighs a TONNE
.......good for static mobile though .......
