Ok its OFF TOPIC. But I just received a "Flier" from Orange. This has been my ISP thru Freeserve...Wanadoo..Orange. I am according the them 2.45 K from the Orange exchange . I have there MAX package up to 8 meg. I get 4 meg and a bit or on a windy day 5 Meg. But some times it drops to 1.5 meg. Cost £17.61 per month. They offered me up to 20 meg...ADSL2. for £6.00 less than I am paying. I have made 3 calls to them and basically got 3 answerers. Out come 1...Yes you can upgrade now...£6.00 less. ( this guy was not sure at all what he was promoting.) But must change to Orange Phone line. Flier says BT line can be retained. 2... Your line only tested to 4 megs. Your area is not equipped for ADSL2. 3.... Yes you can have ADSL2...But depending on which side of the Gosforth ISP exchange building that Orange has there equipment in for your line , it may UPDATE to 700K. And we cant promise to increase that, if you are lucky and get the other side of the building you will get 4 Meg....OH new 18 month contract to switch to ADSL2. Question. Is there no difference between connecting me to ADSL as against ADSL2. Was ADSL2 not for speed increases. Would if the line was tested show the same speed results if tested ADSL ADSL2 They can not test the line for ADSL2 until you sign for the package. I am sure one of you guys can explain this maybe more fully. I await some flaming but I can stand it de Johnny G3LIV[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
