OK. Thanks for the info. I googled AMBE and came up with this - http://codec2.org . So it looks like there is might be an alternative but it's no good unless they completely reverse engineer the codec (which I guess isn't allowed?) or existing users make changes to support a new codec (unlikely?). Sorry state of affairs really. It's a pity ICOM didn't make extra effort in their codec choice, but then it has given them an edge in the market. Steve.[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
