They are as Brian says relatively crude. They are just LF/MF carrier with a morse ident, simple as that. The aircraft uses a simple DF set to get a bearing on the NDB, no different to a fox hunt on top band!!! Most NDBs have in the UK have vanished or been replaced with VORs over the years.
