As regards the ATU, I suggest you think about the antenna(s) you plan to use as this can influence your choice. For example, if you plan on using an "end fed" wire, I'd avoid an ATU in the shack in favour of a remote auto ATU at the feed point, with suitable radials, and fed with coax from the shack. This limits problems with "bringing RF into the shack".
