The European Court of Human Rights has made a judgement in the case of two men who allege that their DNA being retained after arrest but with no charges following violates their right to privacy. This has enormous implications for the retention of such data. The embattled Home Secretary is said to be 'disappointed'. The government now has to consider its position on the matter. Expect four results: extended delay and equivocation; the arrest of just about anyone for anything, in order to get as many records on the NDNAD as posiible in the interminable interim; a barrage of news programmes about how useful the NDNA is; and silence over its pitfalls and shortcomings. -- from Aero Spike[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
