If I may be permitted an Icarusi-style post... I have long been a Joe Walsh fan boy, but I always thought that the studio version of RMW from The Player You Drink The Smoker Get (Amazon clip here http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V66J62/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk1) wasn't as good as the live version on You Can't Argue With A Sick Mind (http://www.amazon.com/Rocky-Mountain-Way/dp/B000V616KG/), the biggest difference being the feel of the drums and bass. Then recently I discovered this gem from Sly and the Family Stone in 1969 (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00137XQCS/ref=dm_mu_dp_trk7). The common thread is that Andy Newmark one of the drummers on the live version was the drummer for S&TFS from 1972 to 73. Not only did Walsh rip off the song, he pinched the drummer too. But you probably knew this already.....[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
