But I don't have a choice! I am being thorough consistent. If the
proposed alternative is way more expensive, then as far as I am
concerned, it does not exist as an alternative. A choice on my terms
has to involve a reasonable price difference, not a massive price
difference - unless it is in my favour. As long as the difference is
reasonable, I can choose on the basis of other criteria, such as
friendliness of staff, cleanliness of store and so on.

See above. If goods at Budgens were roughly the same price as at Teco,
Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's, then I might consider shopping at
Budgens as well as at the other. As their goods, however, are mostly
way more expensive, I don't consider them.
