East Midlands Airport

dropped some people off at east midlands airport early evening today     ...
the parking sign said 10 minutes free parking and picked up an entry ticket
on entering the car park via a swinging arm gate    ...    exited the gate
within the time period so was able to drop off my people without invoking a
parking charge but on examining the ticket later was astonished to discover
my registration number on the ticket    ...   presumably there is some kind
of plate reading apparatus in the vicinity as I was not required to give any
details into the entry the machine

what happens to this data regarding my registration number?    ...
