On listening to the first of three programmes on R4 on white collar crime, I realised how it will be interesting to see how much the programme highlights the following point. I have worked and know of companies where there exists a culture of cheating the public. For example, we all know how BT attempt to conceal conditions and charges; we all know how British Gas have tried to trick people into signing contracts; we have all heard of companies such as Virgin, Bitish Airways and many rail Companies who have mis- sold or made bogus claims about their 'products'. More recently, we know of how most banks have been involved in widespread fraud and deception at every level of their business. With all the above in mind, would it really be any surprise to anyone, that individuals who work within crooked companies, being surrounded by a culture of deception, would not also occasionally become corrupt for their own endss rather than just for the benefit of the company. Surely it is the same as living in a crooked family - the example of a parent is critical, if you see dad regularly cheating, you are more likely to grow into his image than if your dad always worked from a sound ethical position. Dodgy companies must be more likely to attract or create dodgy staff. Turk182[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
