BT payment handling charge

Hi,

I know that BT charge their customers £4.50 payment handling fee on the
quarterly bills and this is for cheques and cash payments but what about
instant online payments through my current account? I have refused to
pay this charge for the last 3 months as it doesn't cost them a thing to
process but they charge me, that's theft in my book. I refuse to be
bullied into setting up a direct debit, I prefer to pay my way. Now they
say they're going to charge £7.50 late payment fees, more theft.

Do I have any rights here or am I screwed?
