That's why I'm asking if anyone knows of a decent solicitor who I can
consult about this - I'd obviously prefer to speak to one who is
familiar with this area of law. I doubt very much that it would take
more than a single short consultation to find out whether or not I
have a case.

Again. that depends on whether a win would mean the agency paying the
legal fees too, and whether a solicitor would take the case on a
no-win no fee basis.

A few years ago I was involved in a legal case involving a severe
personal injury. I consulted a solicitor who specialized in the type
of accident I'd been involved in - his initial consultation was free,
and although the settlement wasn't large, there was no financial risk
for me - he sued the other party for my damages and for my costs.

I guess I'm just going to have to phone around a few places - most
solicitors seem to have their own areas of expertise, and I was hoping
that someone knew of one whose area was contract law (in the sense of
the sort of contracts IT consultants use to provide services).
