Boghall grandfather wrongly targeted by sex-beast vigilantes SEX-BEAST VIGILANTES GET IT WRONG Jul 24 2008 by Alistair Watson, West Lothian Courier A GRANDAD’S house has been vandalised by vigilantes who mistook it for the home of a child-sex pervert. Thomas Easton’s home on Andrew Avenue, Boghall, was completely defaced with offensive graffiti after it was mistaken for the address of sex beast John Wilson. The Courier told earlier this month how Wilson, formerly of Andrew Avenue, had been jailed to await sentence for abusing two underage girls. But the vandals targeted Mr Easton’s house in the mistaken belief that Wilson lived there. Luckily Mr Easton, who lives alone, was not home at the time of the attack, which took place sometime during the night on Saturday, July 12. The bricklayer returned home after a weekend at T in the Park to discover his walls, windows, driveway and doors covered in white paint. They had even tried to break into the home in an attempt to trash it. And Mr Easton contacted the Courier to make it clear he has nothing to do with Wilson. He said: “I have children and grandchildren myself and I am disgusted at this man’s crimes. “But I have nothing to do with him and don’t want anything else to happen to my home. “It’s a really upsetting thing to happen. “I was away at T in the Park for the weekend and this was such a come down. “They had even spray painted my front door mat. “Luckily I had secured the windows before going away as they had tried to break in. “Who knows what they would have done if they had got in?” And the 51-year-old grandad paid tribute to his neighbours who rallied round to help when they saw the damage to his home. He added: “I was really overwhelmed by my neighbour’s reaction to the vandalism. “All the neighbours in the street rolled up their sleeves and had cleaned up most of the graffiti at the front of the house before I got back home. “They scrubbed the windows and door at the front and turned over my paving slabs to hide the vandalism. “I would really like to thank them for this as it meant a lot to me.” A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said: “The matter is still ongoing and inquiries continue to try and trace the person or people responsible. “Anyone with any information on the incident should call Bathgate Police Station on 01506 652323 or Crimestoppers on 0800555111.” http://icwestlothian.icnetwork.co.uk/courier/tm_headline=boghall-grandfat her-wrongly-targeted-by-sex-beast-vigilantes%26method=full%26objectid=2 1392487%26siteid=92284-name_page.html ***** WM www.critest.com[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
