My PC only has USB sockets on the back, and it gets a bit tedious to reach round the back of the PC every time I want to plug in my external "Passport" drive. So I bought a short 1-metre USB 2.0 lead. But when I plug the drive into the same USB socket as before but via this extension lead, it fails to work: the activity light on the drive flickers wildly and the PC displays a "found new hardware" dialogue. I've tried with various other USB extension leads that came with other devices (eg a USB wireless adaptor) and the symptoms are the same. Anyone got any ideas?[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
