On July 10, Seagate announced they would begin shipping their new 1.5TB desktop hard disks this August. Their US products page, http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/products/desktops/barracuda_hard_drives/barracuda_7200.11 / has details of the following new drives (in addition to the standard 250GB/platter ones): 320GB, one platter 640GB, two platters 1000GB, three platters 1500GB, four platters Their UK products page, http://www.seagate.com/www/en-gb/products/desktops/barracuda_hard_drives/barracuda_7200.11 / lists only the first two of these. The 320GB single platter drive is already for sale on ebuyer: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/142569 (UKP 44.75) where it is quite a bit more expensive than the two platter drive: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/115418 (UKP 37.01) Am I right in assuming that it will still be several months before these things are available in any great numbers, and OcUK are being a bit optimistic (and underhand) in selling them on pre-order already: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-168-SE Also, why didn't they call this new range of drives "7200.12"?[ Auf dieses Posting antworten ]
