Hi all,

I have a Seagate Barracuda 400Gb drive (st3400832a) that died on me. I
think the PCB has blown. It disappeared on me and when I went into BIOS and
it was no longer detecting the drive. The disk used to spin up as normal
and then not be detected in BIOS but when I powered it up today all I get is
a low level rapid clicking sound and no spin inside the unit.

Could it be that something on the PCB is not powering the hard drive
correctly or could it be something mechanical inside the unit itself? Does
anybody think it feasible for me to replace the board on the drive and maybe
get my data back?

Thanks.
